KANDANCHU 6514 is a square outdoor wall light from the Spanish brand Mantra, designed in-house by MANTRA TEAM. The plain aluminium block stands 15 cm tall on a 7 cm section and projects only 9.5 cm from the wall, with light leaving through two glass lenses — one at the top, one at the bottom. Light up and down The arrangement draws a distinctive pattern on a façade: two symmetrical cones of light spreading up and down the wall with a darker band between them. KANDANCHU therefore does two jobs at once — it lights the path below and picks out the texture of render, stone or brick above. A row of them along a wall, beside steps or flanking a front door reads as a deliberate architectural element rather than an afterthought. The fitting carries no built-in light source: it takes two GU10 bulbs, bought separately. That is convenient — you choose the colour temperature and output yourself, and years later you replace the bulb rather than the whole fitting. Façades are usually best served by a warm 2700–3000 K. Build and weather resistance The body is aluminium finished in a dark grey to RAL 7024 (traffic grey), and the lenses are glass. IP54 means full protection against settling dust and resistance to splashing water from any direction — rain, snow and façade washing. That is enough for a house wall, a terrace, a balcony or a fence; it is not a fitting for immersion or for direct exposure to pressurised water jets. Reference 6514 is the square, two-way, dark grey one. That makes it possible to combine up-and-down fittings over an entrance with single-direction ones along a path on the same building, keeping the same shape and the same finish throughout. Installation The luminaire is fixed permanently to the wall over an electrical box. It is protection class I, so the circuit must include an earth conductor — that is a condition of a compliant connection, not an option. At 0.52 kg it makes no demands on the substrate, though fixings intended for insulated façades should be used where the wall is externally insulated.Mostra di più
