Groenland M 8710 is a ceiling fan with integrated LED lighting. The white cylindrical housing screws straight to the ceiling with no downrod, and three blades in a pale wood finish span 122 cm from it. Underneath, the hub closes with a round opal lens. What size of room it is meant for The blades sweep a circle 122 cm across, so that much clear space has to stay around the mounting point. The manufacturer quotes 150 m³/min of airflow and specifies the model for rooms of 13–20 m² — a figure to set against your own floor area, because in a larger room the same airflow spreads over more space. The housing drops only 21.5 cm below the ceiling and takes no downrod, so the fan also fits rooms with less headroom. Mounting on a sloped ceiling is allowed. How loud it runs and how it is controlled The motor is a DC type with eight speeds, for which the manufacturer quotes 16.7 to 47.8 dB. The lower figure sits within the range where a fan can be left running overnight in a bedroom; at the top speed, at 215 revolutions per minute, it is clearly audible. The speeds and the light both run off the supplied 2.4 GHz radio remote, so no separate dimmer or pull chain is needed. The rotation reverses: in summer the blades push air down, in winter they bring warm air back from the ceiling. How much light it gives The lamp in the hub puts out 1700 lm, roughly what two old 60 W bulbs gave, which is enough for general lighting in a room of the size quoted above. Colour temperature adjusts steadily from 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellow light, to a cool 5000 K, and the same remote dims the output. The LED module is built in permanently: it is not changed like a bulb, and the manufacturer rates it at 25 000 hours. Build and installation The housing is steel and the blades are ABS with a wood-grain finish — not solid timber. The fan weighs 4.1 kg, a load that has to go into the structural ceiling rather than a suspended lining. The unit is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to reach the ceiling box, and it carries no moisture protection, which makes it a dry-interior fitting only.Mostra di più
