Namos is a single-light wall sconce with a brass body and a bell-shaped glass shade in a smoke tint. Above the arm, two glass elements are threaded on a brass rod: a smoke-grey sphere and a flattened turquoise oval — these are what set the fitting apart from an ordinary glass sconce. How much wall it takes The sconce is 28.5 cm high and 21.5 cm wide, and it stands 16 cm out from the wall. That last figure is the one to check first: in a narrow hall, or in the passage beside a bed, a fitting projecting 16 cm is easily in the way. The wall plate is round and covers a standard installation box. The shade faces downwards, so the light falls mainly on the wall below the fitting and on whatever stands beneath it. Which bulb to buy with it The fitting has one E27 holder and takes a bulb of up to 40 W. The sconce can be dimmed, but that needs a dimmable bulb and a dimmer. Where to hang it It suits a living room, a dining room and a hall, as well as hotel interiors — in each case as supplementary light at the wall rather than as the room's main lighting. The maker calls the style modern: a plain brass arm with no ornament, with the whole decorative accent carried by the two glass elements above the shade. Build Body, arm and rings are a metal alloy in a brass finish, while the shade and the decorative elements are glass.
