FANCY 50/30 is a pendant lamp with a cylindrical shade made of semi-transparent smoked foil, 50 cm across and 30 cm tall. The shade wall is translucent enough that the lampholder and the bulb inside stay visible through it. The whole fitting hangs from a thin cable below a round chrome ceiling cup. How big it is and where to hang it A 40 cm shade is usually matched to a table 80–90 cm wide, so 50 cm keeps its proportions over a wider top — from roughly a metre upwards. The suspension measures 120 cm, and the bottom rim of the shade is normally set 70–80 cm above the tabletop, so the light covers the whole surface without shining into the eyes of anyone seated. The lamp weighs 1.02 kg and hangs from a single cable; the round ceiling cup covers the wiring box. It runs on ordinary 230 V and wires straight into the ceiling circuit. What bulb it takes There is one E27 lampholder inside, and the manufacturer gives 15 W as the maximum lamp power — a ceiling for the bulb, not the fitting's own consumption. No bulb is supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose; over a dining table 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, meaning warm, slightly yellow light. The lamp can be dimmed, but that needs a bulb marked as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit — the fitting itself carries no control electronics. Because the bulb shows through the shade, its shape is visible from outside: a decorative filament model looks quite different from a plain opal globe. The smoked foil shade The foil is tinted and semi-transparent, so light leaves by two routes: some passes through the shade wall and lights it up all the way round, the rest falls through the open bottom straight onto the surface below. Over a table that gives a concentrated pool of light on the top and a subdued glow around it. The manufacturer intends the fitting for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, and for hotel and restaurant interiors as well. The form is modern: a smooth cylinder with no ornament, the only visible details being the metal lampholder inside and the chrome ceiling cup.Mostra di più
