DURE 3 is a square downlight for recessing into a suspended ceiling. What stays visible after installation is a white frame of 145 × 145 mm with a milky, matt diffuser filling its centre. The LED is built in permanently and the fitting runs straight off 230 V mains. How much room it needs above the ceiling The ceiling takes a 120 × 120 mm cut-out, and the 145 × 145 mm frame covers its edges. The fitting reaches 34 mm up into the ceiling — compare that figure with the void left above your own ceiling board. Two spring clips hold it, springing open above the board; at 0.13 kg no further fixing is needed. The fitting works directly on 230 V, so there is no separate driver to buy. The light it gives The fitting puts out 1100 lumens, roughly what an old 75 W bulb gave. 6000 K is cold, distinctly white light with a cool cast — the kind that makes it easier to stay focused at work, not the kind that sets an evening mood. The beam spreads at 110°, so one fitting covers a wide patch of floor rather than a narrow pool. Colour rendering of Ra 80 is enough for utility rooms. The LED comes with the fitting and cannot be replaced — the maker quotes 17,000 hours of life and 15,000 switching cycles. The fitting is not dimmable. Where it can be installed An IP54 rating means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, which suits the fitting to rooms with raised humidity. The maker intends it for indoor use only, in temperatures from −20 to +40 °C. The PS plastic body carries IK06 impact resistance and protection class II, so no earth conductor has to be connected.
