CONWAY is a wall light the British brand Endon designed for the bathroom, even though it looks like a classic bedroom fitting. A chrome-plated, gently curved arm carries the shade 24 cm out from the wall, and the tapered ivory fabric shade softens the light the way a bedside lamp does. A pull cord hangs from the backplate — in a damp room that lets you switch the light on and off without touching an electrical switch with a wet hand. Where it may be installed The fitting is IP44 rated and the manufacturer approves it for bathroom zone 2, the area next to a bath or a shower enclosure. Installation in zone 1 is possible only where the circuit is protected by a 30 mA RCD. Outside the bathroom it works just as well beside a dressing-room mirror, above a chest of drawers or as a bedside light. It is an indoor fitting — not intended for outdoor use. Light source There is one G9 socket, for which the manufacturer specifies an LED lamp of up to 3 W. No bulb is supplied, so the colour temperature is your choice: a warmer 2700–3000 K for an evening bathroom, something cooler at a mirror used for shaving or make-up. Endon recommends its own non-dimmable G9 LED lamps for this model, so the fitting should not be wired to a dimmer. Dimensions and build The fitting is 25 cm tall and 15 cm wide, and it projects 24 cm from the wall. It weighs 0.5 kg. The metalwork is chrome plated and the shade is sewn from ivory fabric.
