Clasi 30 is a pendant lamp with a metal shade shaped like a slightly tapered drum, 29 cm across. The shade is black in RAL 9005, and the only light-coloured part of the body is the brass tube it hangs from beneath the black cord. White plastic diffusers close off the shade at the top and at the bottom.How big it is and where to hang itThe fitting measures 29 cm in diameter and 26.5 cm in height, counted from the top of the brass tube to the lower edge of the shade. The diameter is the figure to compare with the width of the table or side table the lamp will hang over. The cord is 200 cm long and sets the longest possible drop — over a table the height is usually chosen so the lower edge of the shade sits 70–80 cm above the tabletop.The canopy is 12.5 cm across and 9 cm high, so it covers a standard installation box. The whole lamp weighs 1.6 kg and, according to the manufacturer's data sheet, may be hung from a ceiling hook.Which bulbs you need to buyThree E14 sockets sit under the shade, each taking a bulb of up to 10 W. Bulbs are not included, so three of them have to be bought with the lamp, and the colour and brightness of the light are your choice. A 10 W ceiling per socket is in practice an LED ceiling — E14 halogen bulbs start higher.The manufacturer states that the fitting can be dimmed once bulbs marked as dimmable are fitted. Control therefore rests with the bulb and the dimmer, not with the lamp itself.Build and characterThe shade, the tube and the canopy are metal; the white diffusers at the top and bottom are plastic. Both cover the sockets, so from below and from above you see a lit surface rather than three separate points. The sides of the shade are opaque, so the light leaves downwards onto the surface under the lamp and upwards onto the ceiling.The cord has a black textile braid, and the manufacturer notes that it is not intended to be replaced. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth connection, and it is intended for indoor use only.
