Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) has become a popular technique for preparative chromatography. This Chiralcel column has an inner diameter of 4.6 mm, a length of 150 mm and a particle size of 5.0 µm. The SFC offers two key advantages for a range of preparative separations: Speed: The viscosity of the mobile phase is very low, enabling fast, efficient separations and high production rates. Low solvent consumption: The SFC consumes only a small volume of organic solvent - only 10-20% of the solvent required for an HPLC separation. This low solvent consumption facilitates and accelerates the recovery of products from the small amounts of modifiers.
