The V-TAC VT-8401 Ceiling Plafond is a round ceiling light with a 46.5 cm diameter and a 7.5 cm height, in a white plastic housing. The LED source is built into the fixture and cannot be replaced — light output is controlled with the remote control included in the box.How large the fixture is and where to mount itThe flat 7.5 cm profile keeps the plafond close to the ceiling, which suits rooms with lower ceilings where a pendant's drop would be impractical. Light spreads at a 360° angle, lighting the area below evenly without a directional beam.How much light it gives and how to control itThe built-in 40 W LED produces a total luminous flux of up to 4000 lm. The remote switches between three colour-temperature settings: 3000 K (warm white), 4000 K (neutral white) and 6500 K (cool daylight white), each drawing a different power level — 20 W, 40 W and 20 W respectively. The fixture can also be dimmed from the remote, without a separate dimmer switch in the wiring. A colour rendering index of Ra80+ gives solid, though not fully faithful, colour rendering — adequate for general lighting. An additional night mode, switched on from the remote, activates a decorative star-shaped light effect visible on the diffuser when the main light is off.Build and warrantyThe housing is made of white plastic.
