Quarter F38 is a flat aluminium plate of 70 x 20 cm with five square polycarbonate light modules set into it in a staggered line. This version is finished in bronze. The plate stands only 3.5 cm off the surface. Where it can be mounted The manufacturer intends the fitting for the ceiling and the wall alike, so the same model can light from above or work as a wide band of light over a piece of furniture. Put the 70 x 20 cm rectangle next to the width of the worktop or the zone it is meant to cover. At 3.5 cm thick it sits almost flush against the surface — in a low room it does not visibly drop the ceiling. It weighs 2.605 kg and ships in one 85 x 30 x 15 cm carton. How much light it gives The LED source is included: five modules of 4.5 W each add up to 1600 lm. At that figure the fitting can be the main light of a smaller room rather than only an addition. 2700 K is warm, slightly yellow light, close to a traditional incandescent bulb. The colour rendering index of Ra 80 is standard: it is enough in a living room or bedroom, while where colours have to be right — at a worktop or in a dressing room — Ra 90+ sources serve better. Dimming and supply The fitting dims from 30 to 100 % and needs a PHASE CUT dimmer to do it; below 30 % the brightness will not go. Supply is 220–240 V, and the IP40 rating sets the location: dry interiors, away from water. Construction The structure is aluminium and the light modules themselves are polycarbonate; production takes place in Italy. The fitting was designed by David Pellegrini and Francesca Mengato, and the manufacturer recommends it for homes and for offices alike.
