CARAPARI LE44654 is a pendant with a black shade shaped like a cone with a rounded apex, 40 cm across. The inside of the shade is white, and a short brass-coloured cylinder projects below its rim. The shade hangs on a black cable from a round ceiling rose. How big it is and what height to hang it at The shade measures 40 cm in diameter and 31 cm in height, and the total drop is 150 cm. A shade of this diameter keeps its proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide; the bottom edge normally sits 70–80 cm above the top, which over a standard 75 cm table works out at roughly 145–155 cm from the floor — about the limit of the factory drop. Several can be hung in a row over a counter or a kitchen island: at 40 cm diameter a spacing of around 70–80 cm gives a continuous band of light without the cones overlapping. How much light it gives and what you do not need to buy The light source is built in: a 17 W LED module giving 917 lm at 3000 K. That is slightly more light than the old 60 W bulb, and 3000 K is warm white — warmer than daylight, but without the pronounced yellow of 2700 K. No bulb has to be bought, but the LED module is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the user. The fitting is not dimmable, so it will not work with a wall dimmer. Build and where it mounts The construction combines aluminium, metal and acrylic. The matt black cone passes no light sideways — the whole output leaves through the bottom, off the white interior of the shade, so the lamp lights the surface beneath it rather than the whole room. That distribution is an advantage over a table and a drawback as a room's only light. The fitting runs on 230 V and has one light point. The IP20 rating settles that it mounts in dry interiors only.
