Asker DC1309CB is a garden bollard shaped like an inverted L: a slim rectangular profile 55 cm tall, 20 cm deep and 11 cm wide, finished with an overhanging head. The body is a painted aluminium casting in Copper Brown — a copper-brown paint, not copper. It runs on 24 V DC, not 230 V This is a low-voltage fitting: it works on 24 V direct current and must not be connected straight to the mains. A 24 V DC power supply is required, sized to the number of fittings on the run, and is bought separately. In return you get the reason low-voltage garden systems are built at all: 24 V cable can be laid shallower, without the constraints that apply to mains cable in the ground, and adding another light point means hanging one more fitting off the existing run. How much light, and what kind The built-in LED module draws 8.7 W and gives 543 lm at 2700 K — warm and slightly yellow, close to the old incandescent bulb. Colour rendering is Ra 80 and colour consistency between units stays within SDCM3, so several bollards along a path will not light in visibly different shades. Light leaves through a milky diffuser tucked under the overhanging head and falls straight down. The BUG classification B0-U1-G0 and a ULOR of 0.63 % mean less than one percent of the output escapes upward — the fitting does not brighten the sky and does not shine into windows. Declared module life is 52,330 hours. Durability and mounting An IP65 rating means full dust protection and resistance to a jet of water from any direction — the bollard takes heavy rain and a hose over the terrace. Sealing rests on an EPDM gland and a silicone gasket; the textured polycarbonate cover carries a UV filter that slows the plastic hazing in sunlight. The base fixes with four screws through ø8 mm holes spaced 18 × 50 mm. The fitting is made in the European Union and belongs to the Scandinavian Norlys collection. Where to put it At 55 cm tall, Asker lights the surface immediately around it rather than the surroundings — it is a bollard for marking a line: the edge of a path, a driveway, an entrance, the rim of a terrace.
