Kaser 901 is a pendant lamp with two cylindrical shades hung from one straight bar. Each shade has a white upper and a grey lower section split by a glossy gold band; the same gold accent returns at the bar joint and at the ceiling rose. Bar, rod and rose are white-lacquered steel. How large it is and where to hang it The fitting measures 790 mm wide, 300 mm deep and 880 mm high measured from the ceiling — that is the whole thing including the rigid rod. Two 30 cm shades spread over just under eighty centimetres cover a longer stretch of a table top than a single shade of the same size would. Over a dining table the lower edge of the shades usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, so put those 88 cm of drop next to your own room height. The rod is rigid rather than a cable, which limits what you can do on a sloping or uneven ceiling. Which bulbs fit The fitting has two E27 sockets and the maker allows up to 15 W in each — 30 W together. The installation card crosses out the incandescent bulb and permits LED only, so those 15 W buy a full-strength LED lamp rather than a dim traditional one. Bulbs are not included. More decisive than the wattage is the maximum envelope the maker prints: 50 mm across and 105 mm long. A standard A60 pear is 60 mm across and will not go in — slim lamps, G45 golf balls or candles of similar size are what fit. Build, and what the box does not contain The shades are fabric, the steel parts lacquered, and the gold bands are brass-plated elements. The whole fitting weighs 1.6 kg, so the load on the ceiling is small. No mounting kit is supplied — you pick dowels and screws yourself to suit the ceiling.
