The Flask Floor Cherry XL is a floor lamp whose entire body is a single piece of white opal glass — a barrel with softly cut corners, finished at the top with a small glass element. It measures 40 cm across and 45 cm high, and a burgundy cord with a switch leaves it at the bottom. How much room it needs and where it goes The lamp stands directly on the floor and occupies a 40 × 40 cm square. At 45 cm its top edge falls at roughly the seat height of a sofa, so it reads as an object beside the furniture rather than above it — a figure worth comparing with the height of your own sofa or side table. The maker intends it for generous living rooms, halls and lounge areas, where 40 cm of diameter has room to tell. The lamp weighs 4.5 kg, and the cord has to reach a socket, so it is worth planning its run so that it does not cross a walkway. What light it gives Inside the glass body sits one E27 lampholder for a lamp of at most 15 W in LED technology. A replaceable light source is included, so the lamp works straight out of the box. Opal glass spreads the light across its whole surface, and switched on the entire body glows rather than one part of it. At that power ceiling this is atmospheric light to supplement a main fitting — reading or desk work needs a separate lamp with a directed beam. Build and control The body is glass, with no metal parts on show. The switch sits on the cord rather than on the housing or in the wall, so the lamp is switched at the cable, which on a floor lamp is easier than reaching for a button on the body itself. Flask was designed by Mikołaj Nicer (Nicer Design) for the Artera brand, starting from the silhouette of a glass bottle. The collection runs to four sizes and several cord colours, and the variant name, Cherry included, names that cord colour rather than the glass, which stays white opal in every version.Mostra di più
