Lofoten 1940CG Outdoor Wall Sconce, Gray, E27, NORLYS

Name: Lofoten 1940CG Outdoor Wall Sconce, Gray, E27, NORLYS
Brand: NORLYS

Lofoten 1940CG is an outdoor wall light built as a glazed box 30 cm tall. The steel body is painted cement grey, and the front and both sides are filled with clear glass, so the bulb stays visible - the fitting throws its light uncovered. The back panel is flat and sits against the wall. Size and wall mounting The fitting is 30 cm high, 19 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall, so it fits on a narrow strip of masonry beside a door without reaching into the doorway. It weighs just under 3 kg. It screws on through three ø5 mm holes spaced 80 x 105 mm - worth comparing with the existing fixing before the old fitting comes off. The light is built to protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor. The terminals take conductors up to 2 x 2,5 mm², and the wiring can be looped through to the next fitting with up to 2 x 1,5 mm²; the gland is sized for round cable 7-10,5 mm in diameter. The bulb is bought separately There is one E27 lampholder rated for an LED source up to 11 W. No bulb is supplied, so you choose colour and brightness yourself - for an entrance or a terrace most people take 2700-3000 K, that is warm, slightly yellow light. The glass is clear and diffuses nothing, so the shape of the bulb and its filament are on show. That is an argument for a decorative filament lamp - in this fitting the look of the bulb is part of the look of the light. Where it can go Ingress protection IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, but not against jets - that is the level for a facade and for a terrace or balcony wall, ideally under an eave or a canopy rather than somewhere rain hits it head on. The manufacturer gives an operating range of -20 to +45 °C, so the fitting stays outside all year. The body is painted steel and the joint between glass and frame is sealed with silicone. Cement grey is one of five finishes the manufacturer makes this model in, alongside black, copper brown, corten steel and beige grey.Show more
