Bono is a square surface-mounted luminaire, 14 cm on each side and 6 cm deep, intended for ceilings and walls alike. The body is die-cast aluminium in anthracite and the whole face is an opal diffuser. The LED module is fixed in place and fed by a built-in driver straight from the 230 V supply. Size and mounting The 14 × 14 cm body stands 6 cm off the surface it is fixed to — a projection worth comparing with the gap between a door frame and the ceiling if the fitting is going above a door. It weighs 0.8 kg, so it asks little of the fixing. The same unit mounts on a ceiling and on a wall with no extra bracket. The driver sits inside the housing, so only the 230 V cable runs to the fitting — no transformer and no control gear on the installation side. How much light it gives The luminaire draws 4 W and puts out 297 lm at 3000 K, warm white. For comparison, the old 60 W incandescent gave around 800 lm, which makes Bono an orientation and accent light: it covers a threshold, a corner of a terrace or a flight of stairs rather than a whole room. Colour rendering of Ra 80 is enough for passages and entrances. The opal diffuser covers the diodes across the full face, so the light is even and no individual points show through. The LED module is integrated — the source is in the box and cannot be replaced — and the manufacturer states a life of up to 30 000 hours, roughly twenty years at four hours a day. Where it can work IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the fitting can stay on an unsheltered wall or a porch ceiling all year.
