NUMINOS XL PD is a pendant light shaped as an aluminium cylinder 12 cm across and 25.8 cm tall, in matt white, with a matt black reflector ring at the light opening. It hangs on a 250 cm cable ending in a round canopy of 10.3 cm diameter. How much room it takes and how low it hangs The 250 cm of cable is spare length rather than a target drop: the manufacturer expects it to be shortened at the clamp inside the canopy, with the cores re-terminated in ferrules and the strain relief secured, and calls for a continuity test afterwards — electrician's work, not an adjustment on a bracket. Over a 75 cm dining table the underside of a pendant usually sits 60-70 cm above the top, which is what the shortening is measured against. The luminaire itself weighs 1.878 kg and mounts on the ceiling only, as a surface version. A 12 cm cylinder is narrow enough to set several of these in a row over one worktop without building a wall of light. Supply and dimming The driver sits inside the luminaire, which runs on 220-240 V in safety class I, so with an earth conductor. Neither the LED module nor the control gear is changed by the user; service does that. It dims on a trailing-edge phase dimmer only, marked with the letter C; DALI control is not offered by the manufacturer. One circuit with a B16A or C16A breaker carries 54 of these luminaires, at an inrush current of 10 A lasting 50 µs. Where it may hang and for how long IP20 protection means dry interiors.
