The Mantra KANDANCHU 6516 is a square outdoor wall light in aluminium with a matt dark grey finish. The cube is 7 cm wide and 8 cm high and stands 9.5 cm off the wall. It throws light downwards only: a round glass cover is recessed into the underside while the remaining faces are solid, so the beam lands as a band of light on the wall below the fitting. The lamp is bought separately Inside there is a single GU10 lampholder, and the assembly sheet allows an LED lamp of at most 10 W in it. No lamp is supplied, so the colour of the light, the output and the spread all depend on what you fit — the beam angle of the lamp you choose decides whether the wall gets a narrow streak or a broader wash. The manufacturer states that the fitting is not dimmable. Any brightness control therefore has to sit in the lamp and the circuit rather than in the luminaire. Where it can go and how it is supplied An IP54 rating means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting works on an exposed facade, on a fence, on a terrace or on a balcony. Supply is 100–240 V 50/60 Hz and the luminaire is protection class I: the metal body needs a protective earth conductor, so the back box has to carry PE. The 9.5 cm projection and the 0.35 kg weight are the figures to compare against the space on your own wall — the cube does not reach into a passage the way an arm and shade would, and it puts no meaningful load on a lightweight wall. Installation A flat base plate is screwed to the wall first; its hole spacing is 39 × 60 mm, and that is the rectangle to mark out. The cores go into a terminal block labelled N and L, then the body slides onto the plate and is locked by a screw underneath, next to the glass. The glass in the underside sits on a gasket and is held down by a ring — that joint is what carries the IP54 rating.Show more
