The HIMALAYA MINI 8197 is a ceiling fan with built-in LED lighting, enclosed in a black ring of radially arranged slats. The blades turn inside that housing rather than below it, so a body 53 cm across and 17.7 cm deep sits close to the ceiling the way a flush light does. Designed by Santiago Sevillano. Mounting and the space it takes The fan fixes straight to the ceiling with no downrod, and the drop cannot be adjusted — it hangs 17.7 cm below the ceiling. Compare that figure with the height of your own room: a classic rod-mounted fan needs clearance underneath, while this one fits where an ordinary flush ceiling light would fit. It weighs 2.7 kg. This is a class I appliance, so the ceiling outlet must carry an earth conductor, and the connection is work for a qualified electrician. The IP20 rating covers dry interiors only — the fitting is not intended for a bathroom or for outdoor use. How much light it gives An integrated LED module draws 70 W and delivers 4500 lm. That is main-room lighting rather than an accent: at this level the fan replaces a separate ceiling light in the room. Colour temperature is adjustable from 2700 to 5000 K, so from warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb through to cool white for working. The dimmer is built into the fitting, so no separate dimmer module or dimmable bulb is needed. Colour rendering is Ra 80, and the manufacturer quotes 25,000 hours of diode life and 10,000 switching cycles. There is no bulb to buy — the module is part of the fitting. How the fan runs A 30 W motor turns at up to 1300 rpm across three speeds and moves up to 76 m³ of air per minute. Noise falls between 32 and 54 dB: the lower figure is a quiet background you can sleep through, the upper one belongs to the top speed and is audible across the room. The direction of rotation can be reversed — the manufacturer describes this as summer and winter operation: in summer the airflow is pushed downwards, in winter the fan returns the warm air gathered under the ceiling.
