FREYA is a metal table lamp in beige, designed by the Says Who studio. The 25 cm dome shade hangs from a curved arm over a round 18 cm base, and a second, smaller shade beneath it covers the bulb. The light it gives The manufacturer builds the lamp around one idea: the light source stays out of sight. The lower shade screens the bulb from below, so the light comes off the inside of the dome and spreads sideways instead of falling straight on whoever stands next to it. This is mood lighting — it does not stand in for a reading lamp or for light over a worktop. The lamp cannot be dimmed; the manufacturer states that outright, so brightness is settled by the bulb you choose rather than by a dimmer in the circuit. The bulb and changing it There is one E14 lampholder rated up to 40 W, and no bulb is supplied — you pick it, and its colour, yourself. The lower shade lifts off to reach the holder, so a bulb change does not mean taking the body apart. Size, where it stands and the cable The base takes up a circle 18 cm across — that is the figure that decides whether the lamp fits a bedside table or a narrow console; the 25 cm dome reaches past it, so leave slack on one side. The lamp is 43 cm tall and weighs 1,16 kg. The cable is 150 cm long and carries the switch, which puts it within reach without going to the socket. The manufacturer notes that the cable is not replaceable — damage to it means a service job, not a swap you do yourself. Supply and where it can go The lamp runs on 220–240 V and is a protection class II fitting, double insulated, so no earth conductor is needed.
