Luces Exclusivas CANTAURA LE61417 Recessed Downlight black GU10 Ø8.2 cm
CANTAURA LE61417 is a round recessed downlight for a GU10 lamp – a black aluminium ring 8.2 cm across and 2.2 cm deep, with a deep conical interior. No bulb is supplied: this is the fitting alone, and the source is chosen separately. The cone that hides the source The most important thing about this fitting is what you do not see at first glance: the inside of the ring is not a cylinder but a deeply recessed cone. The lamp therefore sits well back and is not visible from a normal viewing angle – look up at the ceiling from standing height and you see a dark aperture, not a glowing point. That is the difference between an anti-glare fitting and a flat downlight in which the GU10 shines straight into your eyes. The black interior finish absorbs reflections as well; pale versions throw more light sideways. Installation Two spring clips work at the sides – the standard solution for suspended ceilings and plasterboard: squeeze the springs, push the fitting into the cut aperture and release, and they pull the flange up against the ceiling themselves. No screws or adhesive are needed, and removal is the same movement in reverse. The fitting itself is 2.2 cm deep, but space must also be allowed above the ceiling for the GU10 lamp and the cable. Choosing the lamp The socket takes a GU10 of up to 10 W on a 230 V supply. Since the fitting has no optics of its own beyond the cone, the lamp decides everything: beam angle, colour temperature, flux and colour rendering are its figures, not the fitting's. With a cone this deep, narrower-beam sources (24–38°) work well, since a wide beam will be partly cropped by the walls anyway. The CANTAURA family The same 8.2 cm diameter comes in three variants: LE61414 in white and LE61417 in black – both 2.2 cm deep – plus LE61418 in gold, deeper at 3.6 cm. Finish can therefore be matched to the ceiling and depth to the available void.
