Allegra is a six-light semi-flush ceiling fitting from Endon, with brass arms radiating from a central hub on two levels, each ending in a glass globe carrying a distinctive twisted, spiral relief. It mounts close to the ceiling — the projection is just 33 cm against a 64 cm diameter — so this is a design meant for rooms with low ceilings, where a chandelier on a chain would hang too far down. Glass with a twisted relief The shades are made of clear glass with a moulded spiral pattern. With the bulbs lit, the pattern breaks the light and casts a soft, shifting figure across the ceiling and walls — clearly visible in the room photographs. Clear glass also means the bulb itself stays on show, so decorative sources such as E14 filament golf lamps suit this fitting better than opal globes. Antique brass The metalwork — ceiling plate, arms and lampholders — is plated in antique brass. It is a warmer, subdued shade of gold with no mirror gloss, which sits well with dark wall colours, wood and brass fittings. Six E14 lamps, chosen separately The fitting takes six E14 lamps of up to 7 W each; bulbs are not included. The manufacturer recommends E14 LED lamps — across six light points the difference in running cost is noticeable, and the low operating temperature of LEDs is kinder to glass shades. The fitting is dimmable, but the result depends on the lamps: you need bulbs described as dimmable and a dimmer compatible with them. Installation and safety The fitting is Class I, which means the earth conductor must be connected — installation belongs to a qualified electrician. It weighs about 2.4 kg, so a standard concrete ceiling or a properly reinforced plasterboard ceiling will carry it without difficulty. The manufacturer's warranty runs for 2 years.
