AINO 40 is a pendant with a cylindrical shade 40 cm across and 26 cm high, covered in a grey pattern that reads as coarse knitwear. The inside of the shade is chrome and mirror-like, and the fitting hangs on a grey cable from a 9.4 cm ceiling cup. How big it is and how to hang it A 40 cm shade keeps its proportion over a table 80–90 cm wide. The cable is 120 cm and is shortened during installation — over a table the bottom edge of the shade is usually set 70–80 cm above the top, so the light covers the whole surface and does not reach anyone's eyes. The ceiling cup is 9.4 cm across and 8.4 cm high, so it covers a standard 6 cm installation box. The whole fitting weighs 880 g. The bulb is not included The lamp has one E27 socket and no light source — you choose the bulb yourself. The manufacturer gives the socket as LED E27 up to 15 W, a limit set for LED lamps, and names its own G13461 globe lamp as a match, sold separately. Because the bulb is the buyer's choice, it settles colour and brightness: for a dining room 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, warm light with a slightly yellow cast. The fitting can be dimmed only if the bulb is marked dimmable and a dimmer sits in the wiring — the luminaire itself carries no control electronics. How it spreads the light The shade is opaque at the sides and open at the bottom, and its inside is chromed. The light therefore goes downward, reflected off the mirror surface, and lands on the top below the lamp rather than spreading through the whole room. With the bulb lit, the knit pattern reads across the face of the cylinder, and the bottom edge with its chromed lining stays the brightest part of the fitting. Build and where to hang it The structure is metal with a chromed shade interior, and the knit-like pattern covers the whole cylinder and carries the entire character of the piece — beyond it there is no ornament here.
