SOLIS is a flat aluminium LED profile in a black finish, sold here as a 1 m section. The cross-section is wide and low, and the inner channel has a flat floor — the manufacturer designed it for three LED strips laid side by side, not for one. Cross-section dimensions and how many strips fit The profile is 43 mm wide overall and 9.3 mm high. The channel inside measures 39.7 mm across and 6.4 mm deep — and it is that width which lets three parallel strips sit in it instead of one, making the lit surface a band rather than a line. Compare the 9.3 mm height with how far the profile may stand out from the ceiling or the cabinet it is to lie on. This version is the one-metre section; the manufacturer also runs the same profile at 2.02 m and 3 m, and up to 6 m to order. Sections cannot be joined with a connector, so plan a longer run as a single section of the right length from the start. How it is mounted The manufacturer provides for surface and suspended mounting. Surface-mounted, the profile is stuck down with double-sided tape; suspended, it hangs on a set of pendants. A metal SOLIS clip and a holder for a ⌀ 5 mm cable are also offered. The driver goes outside the profile — a channel this shallow has no room for it, so it needs its own hidden place in the installation. The profile can be sealed: the manufacturer gives IP68 for the sealed build and IP20 for the plain one. What has to be bought alongside What you buy here is the profile alone. LED strips, driver, cover and end caps are separate products. WIDE covers come in PMMA and PC in transparent, frosted, milky, opal and black versions, with a PRISMATIC PC cover listed separately; end caps come with and without a hole. When choosing strips, keep the thermal limit in mind: the manufacturer gives a maximum dissipated source power of 24.6 W at a profile temperature of 55 °C and 33.9 W at 65 °C.
