LOGS IN L is a surface-mounted wall light shaped as a rectangular bar 30 cm long, screwed flat to the wall. The housing is black and its inside is lined with a brass-coloured plate set at an angle. The LED sits behind the edge of the housing and shines onto that plate, so the light leaves the fitting reflected rather than direct. How it lights The fitting gives 1100 lm at 3000 K and throws light up and down the wall at the same time — the manufacturer calls the distribution direct-indirect. 3000 K is warm white, and 1100 lm is roughly a former 75 W bulb, except that the output splits into two bands on the wall instead of lighting a whole room. Because the LED is not visible from any angle and the light meets the brass plate first, the fitting does not glare. That is exactly what the manufacturer intends it for: stairwells, beside stairs and in entrances, where you walk towards the light. CRI 90 means colours under it read almost as they do by day. Wiring and dimming The control gear is built into the base of the fitting, so it wires straight to the 230 V mains and needs neither a separate driver nor room for one. It is a class I luminaire — the earth conductor has to be connected. Brightness is set with a phase dimmer, leading or trailing edge (TRIAC). That is the dimmer type fitted into the back box in place of an ordinary switch; 1–10 V and DALI controllers will not work with it. The dimmer is not supplied. Size and build The bar measures 30 cm long, 7 cm high and stands 10 cm off the wall — a figure to compare with the width of the passage if the light is going beside a staircase. The aluminium housing weighs 1.367 kg, so fixings matched to the wall material are needed. The manufacturer rates the LED at 30,000 hours and covers the fitting with a five-year warranty.
