The V-TAC VT-61012 is a square recessed LED panel measuring 170.8 mm across and only 28.4 mm deep. It uses a backlit construction: the SMD diodes face the diffuser rather than the edge of the panel, so the whole white surface lights up evenly, without the hotspots and banding that edge-lit fittings often show. Light output and efficiency The panel draws 12 W and delivers 1200 lm, which works out at 100 lm/W. Its 6500 K colour temperature is a distinctly cool white with a clean, technical character, favoured wherever legibility and a bright, well-lit impression matter more than a warm atmosphere. A colour rendering index above 80 is enough for accurate colour recognition in everyday working environments, and the full 360 degree sphere distribution softens the hard shadows that form directly beneath a fitting. V-TAC quotes a colour consistency of 6 SDCM, so several panels installed side by side produce the same shade of white. Installation The panel is held in place by spring clips. Cut a 155 x 155 mm opening in the suspended ceiling or plasterboard, connect the mains leads to the 220-240 V terminals, fold the springs back along the body and push the fitting into the hole; the clips then pull it flush against the ceiling on their own. The work should be carried out by a qualified electrician with the power switched off. The light source is integrated and cannot be replaced, so the complete panel is exchanged at the end of its service life. The fitting is not dimmable. Where it fits and operating conditions V-TAC lists this series under office and retail lighting, and the 12 W version suits general illumination in offices, studies, shops, reception areas, corridors and utility rooms where even light and a shallow installation depth are what count. IP20 protection restricts it to dry interiors, away from splashing water and damp. The operating temperature range is -20 to +45 degrees Celsius, and the panel needs free air circulation, so it must not be covered with insulation material.
