Mercer Small Wall Sconce - 1 Light Source - Heritage Brass by Elstead

Name: Mercer Small Wall Sconce - 1 Light Source - Heritage Brass by Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

The small Mercer is a round wall light by Hinkley in Heritage Brass — a classic, slightly muted brass. The flat drum is made of a thick metal ring holding a disc of etched opal glass and a rear base; in the gap between them a halo of light shows. It is distributed by Elstead Lighting. Size and depth The fitting is 17 cm high and wide, and only 9.8 cm deep; it weighs 0.72 kg. The manufacturer's room photos show it in bunk-bed alcoves and on a panelled wall — the shallow depth allows fitting where a projecting light would get knocked. Light source There is a single E14 lampholder for a bulb of up to 40 W, bought separately. The opal glass diffuses its light, so the disc glows softly and evenly. If you want to dim it, you need an E14 bulb marked as dimmable and a dimmer — the fitting is compatible with both. It is Class I, so it must be connected to earth; it is an indoor fitting. Character The manufacturer describes Mercer as a mid-century modern design with a vintage-glamour mood: solid metal construction and round glass in a simple geometric arrangement. In brass that character reads warmer and more decorative than in black. Where it fits The catalogue assigns it to living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and corridors.Show more
