The Gea Luce GES970 is an outdoor wall light: a rectangular die-cast aluminium block 22 cm long, finished in graphite grey. Light leaves through two slots — one up, one down — closed with clear glass. Size and where it fits on the wall The fitting measures 22 cm long, 10.5 cm deep and 8.5 cm high, so it stands just under 11 cm off the wall. That is the figure to compare with the width of the door reveal or pier you intend to mount it on — on a narrow strip of masonry a 22 cm horizontal block can overhang the edge. Gea Luce gives the weight as 990 g. The fitting is electrical class 1, so an earth conductor has to reach the back box; the supply is 220–240 V. How it spreads the light The light works in both directions: part of the output runs up the wall, part falls to the ground below the fitting. That draws two bright cones on the façade and lights the ground close to the wall — it is not general yard lighting, and not a spotlight you aim at one target. The built-in 15 W LED module produces 916 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white close to daylight. The spread is 120° and colour rendering above Ra 80 is enough for an entrance and a walkway. The module is integral — there is no lampholder for a replaceable bulb. Construction and weather resistance The body is die-cast aluminium and the diffuser is glass rather than plastic, so the surface will not yellow under UV. IP65 means it is fully dust-tight and resists water jets, so the fitting can sit on an unsheltered façade, in the rain. The module is rated at 25,000 hours. Gea Luce offers the same body at 3000 K (GES970C) and in white and rust finishes, if graphite does not suit the wall.Show more
