COPA is a small pendant lamp with a shade of opal glass — almost spherical, slightly flattened at the bottom. The shade measures 14 cm across and 12 cm high, and it hangs on a white cable ending in a white ceiling rose. How much room it takes and how low it hangs The cable is 150 cm long, which is the maximum drop from the ceiling; the height you actually want is measured from the worktop or table the lamp hangs over, not from the floor. At 14 cm across this is a point of light rather than a fitting that lights a whole room — over a longer counter or table, several in a row is the natural answer. The whole fitting weighs 0.59 kg, which sits within what an ordinary ceiling box carries. The lamp and dimming Inside the shade is an E27 lampholder on 230 V mains, and the manufacturer gives 11 W as the maximum lamp wattage — a ceiling for the light source, not the fitting's own consumption. No lamp is supplied. With a shade 14 cm across the lamp has to be a short one: RENDL recommends the OSRAM Retrofit mini-ball DIMM, article G13014 — an E27 mini-globe 4.5 cm in diameter and 7.7 cm long, 2.8 W, 250 lm, 2700 K. A standard E27 pear bulb is noticeably longer and protrudes below the rim of the shade. The fitting itself has no dimming electronics — the manufacturer records dimming as possible "with a suitable light source", so the lamp you screw in decides it. Colour versions This one is the opal-glass version, article R11823. RENDL also makes the same model in black glass as R11824 — the two differ more when lit than when off, because black glass passes far less light.Show more
