CHETUMAL LE71509 is an outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular lantern: an anthracite aluminium frame with clear acrylic panels between its edges. The lampholder and the bulb itself show through them, because the glazing hides nothing.How big it is and how far it stands off the wall The lantern is 23.8 cm high and 13.8 cm wide, and it projects 10 cm from the wall. That last figure is the one to compare with the width of the entrance or the passage along the facade — beside a narrow porch it decides whether the light gets in the way. The back is flat, so the fitting sits against the wall on its whole rear face. Power comes from a cable brought out of the wall; the supply is 230 V mains.What bulb it takes The lampholder is an E27 thread and the fitting is built for one bulb. The manufacturer gives a maximum lamp power of 12 W — a ceiling that must not be exceeded, and at E27 only LED lamps fit under it; an incandescent or halogen bulb does not work sensibly at that rating. No bulb is supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose. Dimming is possible but needs a lamp described as dimmable plus a dimmer — the fitting itself carries no control electronics. Because the panes are clear, the visible shape of the bulb becomes part of how the lantern looks.Where it may be mounted An IP65 rating means full dust protection and protection against water jets, so the light can hang on an exposed facade, above a front door, on a terrace or on a balcony — including places with no roof over them. The frame is aluminium in anthracite and the panels are acrylic. The plain, angular form with a visible frame and an exposed light source is industrial vocabulary — the lantern sits with dark joinery and rough render rather than with ornamented detail.Show more
