OMI 1199 is a ceiling lamp with five white opal glass shades set on a gold metal frame. Four arms run out horizontally from the central tube, and a fifth shade closes the tube from below. The fitting mounts straight to the ceiling — there is no cable or chain, so the mounting height is fixed. How much ceiling space it takes The arms form a cross spanning 69 × 69 cm, and it is 46 cm from the ceiling to the bottom edge of the middle shade. Before ordering, measure those 69 cm in both directions from the ceiling outlet — that is how much space the fitting occupies and how much has to stay clear of walls, beams or wall units. Under a 250 cm ceiling the lower shade sits roughly 204 cm above the floor, above head height; over a 75 cm dining table top that leaves about 130 cm of clearance. The lamp weighs 2.2 kg and is fixed on a plate screwed into the ceiling at two points. The manufacturer states in the manual that only a qualified electrician may work on the electrical installation. Which bulbs to buy The fitting has five G9 sockets and runs on 230 V mains. Bulbs are not included, and the manufacturer gives a limit of 5 W per socket — LED sources fit within that figure, because G9 halogens start considerably higher. Colour and brightness are therefore your choice: 2700–3000 K gives warm, slightly yellow light. The shades are opal glass, which diffuses the light and hides the point-like G9 capsule. Four of them face sideways and the fifth downwards, so the light spreads through the room instead of falling as a single pool beneath the lamp.
