Luces Exclusivas ACAPULCO LE71496 anthracite garden bollard light, 80 cm
ACAPULCO LE71496 is an 80 cm garden bollard light: an anthracite aluminium cylinder 9 cm across, closed at the top by a clear acrylic tube and a flat cap. The bulb stands inside the tube and is visible from every side — it is what gives the fitting its look. How tall it is and where it stands At 80 cm the light source sits roughly at table-top height, above low shrubs and borders and below the eye line of someone standing. Light leaves sideways and picks out the path around the bollard rather than only the ground directly beneath it. The base takes up a circle 9 cm across, so the bollard fits along a narrow path edge. The same family includes the lower LE71495 at 50 cm, so two heights can be mixed along one run. The bulb and the wattage allowed There is a single E27 lampholder, the bulb is replaceable and none is supplied. The manufacturer states a maximum lamp power of 12 W — that rules out classic 40 W and 60 W incandescent bulbs and most halogens, which leaves an LED lamp as the practical choice. Because the tube is clear, the whole envelope of the bulb is on show: a globe or a decorative lamp looks quite different here from an ordinary pear shape. You choose the colour and brightness yourself, and dimming depends on buying a lamp marked dimmable and having a dimmer in the circuit — the fitting itself carries no control electronics. Outdoor use and supply IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against jets of water from any direction, so the bollard can stand in the open with no shelter and takes rain and garden watering in its stride. It runs on 230 V with no separate driver and connects to the garden circuit.
