The Koln O590FL-L8B4K is a low bollard light in black-painted aluminium. It stands 45 cm tall and 9 cm across; the upper part of the body is a clear cylinder with a white cone diffuser inside, closed by a flat black cap. How big it is and where it stands 45 cm of height and 9 cm of diameter are figures to compare with the width of your path and the height of the plants you want lit — the fixture emits from below knee level, so it lights the surface and the immediate surroundings rather than a whole bed. The bollard itself weighs 1.4 kg. An IP54 rating protects the interior against dust and splashing water from any direction, which covers rain and watering. The manufacturer states an operating range of -40 to +50 °C and describes the body as corrosion resistant — the fixture stays outdoors all year. The light it gives The built-in LED module draws 8 W and delivers 450 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white — cooler than an incandescent bulb and with no yellow cast. That is a luminous flux at the level of orientation lighting along a path, not lighting for a whole garden. A beam angle of 185° spreads the light all around the bollard rather than in one direction. The colour rendering index is Ra 80. The light source is permanently built in: there is no bulb to buy and none to replace, and the manufacturer quotes a service life of 50,000 h. Supply, installation and warranty The bollard runs on 220–240 V, 50 Hz and is wired in permanently with a three-core cable: line, neutral and protective earth. It is a safety class I fixture, so the earth conductor is required and the supply has to be run out to the spot — this is not a plug-in lamp.
