ZATI is an aluminium profile made to be plastered in to plasterboard construction. It is not surface-mounted and does not clip on - it slides between the boards and its side flanges are covered with filler and mesh. The result is a light slot in a wall or ceiling with no visible frame at all: the light comes straight out of the plaster plane. Section, and room for two strips The profile is 57.4 mm wide overall including its flat flanges; the body itself - the part that goes into the slot - is 34.9 mm. Height is 14.8 mm, so the assembly is very shallow and fits standard construction without deepening it. The inner channel is 25 mm wide and the manufacturer explicitly provides for two LED strips laid in parallel. That is a real capability: two strips in one profile let you double the output per metre, or combine two separately switched colour temperatures. The non-perforated version Standard ZATI has perforated flanges - LUMINES states the holes allow the profile to be fixed with screws or with filler. This variant, code 10-1655-10, has plain flanges with no perforation; it is intended purely for setting in plaster and mesh. If the design calls for screwing the profile to a frame, the perforated version is the right one and carries its own catalogue number. Light characteristics and supply The output leaves perpendicular to the profile - this is a slot that lights in one direction, not a fitting that spreads light sideways. The driver mounts outside the profile: there is no room for it in the channel, so an access panel or an enclosure elsewhere has to be planned in. LUMINES classes ZATI as a profile for decorative and general lighting, with a basic level of glare control. The profile is not sealable - the rating is IP20, so it belongs in dry interiors only - and it is not drive-over rated, so it must not go into a floor under load. Joining and accessories ZATI lengths can be joined, and LUMINES supplies a set of connectors for the purpose: straight, 90° angle, 120° angle and a transverse angle piece, the last of which carries the light line from a wall plane onto a ceiling. DOUBLE covers in PMMA (clear, frosted, opal, frosted opal, black) and PC Fractal versions are made for the profile, pressed in from above, along with end caps with a cable hole in aluminium and plastic in four colours. Profiles come in 1000, 2020 and 3000 mm lengths; non-standard lengths up to 6 m are made to order. Finish This version is lacquered matt black, in RAL 9005. A black profile plastered into a pale wall reads as a clear dark slot even with the light off - unlike the white version, which disappears into the plaster. Besides black, LUMINES runs ZATI in white lacquered RAL 9016, silver anodised and mill finish.
