Beacon Hill in size S is an outdoor wall lantern by Hinkley, distributed across Europe by Elstead Lighting. The narrow body, 45.7 cm tall, follows a colonial drawing: a rectangular lantern with a gently flared tapered cap and a decorative loop at the crown, carried on a flat wall bracket. Seeded glass The panes are clear seeded glass – deliberately flecked with fine air bubbles, the way old hand-blown glass was. It is not a manufacturing flaw but an aesthetic choice: the bubbles break up the filament's point reflections and give a flickering, uneven light that smooth glass cannot. The effect shows best with a decorative bulb whose filament is visible. Finish and durability The body is aluminium finished in Museum Black – a deep, matt, slightly textured coating. Aluminium does not rust, and the manufacturer backs the finish with a 3-year anti-corrosion guarantee, which matters on coastal and permanently shaded elevations. IP44 allows installation outdoors in places exposed to rain. Light source and wiring The lantern has one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W; no bulb is included and there is no integrated LED. It works with dimmable lamps, so output can be controlled with an external dimmer. Supply is 220–240 V, 50 Hz, and the fitting is class I, so the circuit needs a protective earth. It projects 18 cm from the wall at 14.7 cm wide and weighs 2.6 kg. Corner mounting An optional corner bracket lets the lantern hang on the corner of a building rather than a flat wall – in black that is code C-BKT2-BLACK (also available in brown, C-BKT2-BROWN).
